A Proud 68 Lives On My dad bought his new 1968 C-10 half-ton pickup when he and my mom lived in small town in California’s Sierra Nevada Mountains. He paid $2,400 for it. Gas was cheap then, and it didn’t matter that the V-8 engine with a max 287 HP got a paltry 18 miles per gallon. A no-frills vehicle, it has no A/C, no power brakes, no power steering and three on a tree which seems to mystify today’s teenagers. That part of the world is off the beaten path so my folks didn’t put a lot of ... read more >>

My Dad bought this truck new in 1992. It was used in his daily work as a home builder and apartment owner. While the annual mileage was never high, they were harder miles with short runs here and there. He took extremely good care of it over the years. But years of sitting in the sun took its toll as well. LMC Truck was a part of getting her back into shape. She currently has 146K miles and has never really given any problems mechanically. My Dad still runs her occasionally. It has been a great truck with lots ... read more >>

Dad’s 76 I grew up with this pickup. My dad and I hauled many loads of firewood and memories that I will have for many years ❤️ Dad passed almost two years ago and when the dust settled the family ask what I wanted of Dad’s and I said I wanted Dad’s 76. My brother hauled her over here from Idaho where she sat in one of Dads shops for over 15 years. Every time I came home for a visit I’d ask Dad if I could buy her and same answer, no going to fix it when I ... read more >>

Dad's Ol'Blue My dad's name was Jose Luis, he was a cool guy, a stern man, and a very old school mexican, but a cool dad. He was loving, and hard when he had to be. In August last year, he had 4 heart attacks back to back... He survived for a while on machines in the hospital for a month. Then I lost him on September 12th. I saw the strongest man become the most vulnerable, and saddest man. I think of him seeing me cry, and take care of him every step of the way, until his ... read more >>

I got my truck from helping my dad's friend putting a motor in his truck and as I was getting finished with the motor job he told me that he's got me a truck and it turned out to be the truck I wanted to build up as a frame up restoration. I want to give it a nice paint job and some nice rims and tires. It is going to take me sometime but in the end it will be worth it because it will have my blood sweat and tears into it and help from my dads ... read more >>

The Gift My dad gave me his 79 GMC. He is 87. I asked him to leave it to me, but of course I told I didn't want him dying any time soon. The following month he came to me to come pick it up and put in my name. I show him pictures of how I was goning make it look after I start updating the plain truck. So I have been adding to it as much as I can with the goal being a show truck.  I have rims, tires, jeep type halo led lights, sound system alpine ... read more >>

Our Grandkids Love This Truck My truck was purchased 20 years ago. It is a short bed 4x4 off road package. It has the 5.9 engine, original paint, and interior is all original with no wear. I put a 2" front end spacer in it when i purchased it and have run 37s on it since. Mileage is 105,000. Whenever we get the truck out of the garage to drive it someone always wants to know if its for sale.

It started as a dream when I was a kid cemented through seeing similar trucks in movies and then put into action because of what I learned from an episode of TRUCKS on power nation. Primarily what held me back from starting a project truck was the body work. I do not have the skill set to do all the body work and my biggest fear was spending a lot of money to have someone else do it only to have the finish scratched and dented through day to day life. I always have had a soft spot for ... read more >>
