My dad purchased this truck in 1979. I bought it from him when I turned 15 as my first vehicle. At that time I repainted it and had the interior redone. I also installed a 460ci engine to replace the tired 400m. I repainted and repaired all the rust again in 2014 and finished it in August 2015. 1973 GMC & 1979 Chevy K10 Stepside – Perry F.
The 79 K10 belonged to my grandfather who purchased it new. He was a doctor so it wasn't driven much except for hunting and fishing. He ordered it with Silverado trim, 400 motor and roll up windows. The roll up windows are pretty rare on Silverados but that's the way he wanted it for simplicity. Its sat parked behind our house from about 1982 to about 1994.
