My career was in the auto salvage business, where most of our inventory was purchased from insurance companies as total losses. This truck was stolen off a dealer’s lot and the engine removed. Since it was brand new (it had clocked 10 miles) they counted it as a total. I bought it from the insurance company and sold it to my father-in-law. In 1986, Robert Donald "Donnie" Reed bought this truck from Red McCombs Ford in San Antonio, Texas. Robert Donald Reed served gallantly in the 101st Airborne "Screaming Eagles" during the Vietnam War. His military service included his passion of repairing and working on vehicles and engines of all makes and sizes. We were looking for a vehicle for our oldest daughter just turning sixteen. I worked on the Ford assembly line in Kansas City (Claycomo) for 32 years. One day in 1984, I took the day off to walk this truck down the line. We built it for my uncle who worked upstairs in data processing. He retired and used the truck to move to Scottsdale, Arizona. After several years, I acquired the truck and now it's back in the Kansas City area with 99,000 miles. Thanks.

Here is my 1989 F250 with a 351W. This is a restoration that was started by my nephew and then, will be finished by me. And hopefully the last truck I will ever own. She's a beautiful red on red.
