Gramps lives on 54 years later

My Grandfather “Gramps” Purchased this 1967 Ford F100 from a local dealer in our hometown. He invited me, at nine years old, to go with him to pick it up. What kid at nine would turn down that offer?  We have had so many cool memories, including many trips to the family cottage in the Outer Banks of North Carolina with a truck bed of family members. When Gramps passed, my Grandmother “Nana” gave it to my Dad.  As a lifelong mechanic, I have spend my share of time under the hood replacing many sets of ignition points.  After my Dad passed, my Mom gave this gem to me. Running my own Shell service station I knew the best way to honor my Gramps and my Dad was to restore this truck and drive it. Being in the automotive service business I know the best body and trigger guy in town so he did an amazing job for us. Every piece of chrome and body side molding were replaced. We even sent the the original engine to Japer Engines for a complete rebuild. My Gramps always said a truck was meant to work, so I had Line-X spray in a color match bed liner to not disappoint him. This 54 year old truck is going strong with a big thank you to LMC for providing the quality parts needed to keep this truck on the road and making new memories. This restoration is 12 years old with the original odometer reading of 155,000 miles and is an almost daily driver. It still turning heads and getting many thumbs up. I am lucky and blessed to have had my Gramps and Dad to show me the right way to do things. Many thanks for hearing my story!
