The truck started out as a 1990 S10 in a million pieces. My original plan was to redo everything really nice, get an out of this world paint job with some crazy billet wheels and a 2JZ engine. But things changed, and I didn’t want to spend that much on paint and body work, so my girlfriend gave the idea to patina the truck. So after the body drop, air suspension install, and the 1st engine swap, I was happy but not 100 percent proud of what we had done. The first engine was a built SBC with aluminum heads, big cam, and a decent carburetor. After lots of problems from the engine and the engine builder, I sold it and started looking for the next power plant for my s10, and also looking to see what else I could do to throw it over the top, crazy, never seen on an s10 before. We finally decided that a western hauler style bed and a nice distressed interior would help with the crazy s10 idea. Then we added in the 1970 Chevy inline 6 4.1L 250 for the power plant. No, I couldn’t leave it stock so we built it for boost. It’s ready for a supercharger or turbo set-up minus the cam, but that’s a walk in the park compared to everything else we did. The bed was build from scratch in a friends garage. Vee Village in Kansas City Mo did all my machine work on the engine, First Class Upholstery did my seat, and I did the rest of the interior in my basement. Everything done to the truck was done by myself and a few friends in our garages. The truck isn’t perfect but that’s alright it makes it easier to drive knowing its ok if it gets scratched or the body scrapes on the ground for ridding to low. It’s a really fun truck and I’m finally getting to where it can be driven more and be reliable after all the changes.
