My truck is a 1978 Ford Bronco XLT Ranger with only 35k miles on it. It belonged to my Grandfather who just passed away a few months ago. He was a real role model to me as I was growing up. He taught me how to be a man and how to serve my country and he will be forever remembered.

He bought this yellow 1978 Bronco brand new because he had fell in love with it at first site. It had everything he wanted in a truck and some really cool options. “The rear window rolls down from the drivers seat and the top comes off”, he used to brag.

He would take me hunting and fishing in it when I was young and sometimes let me steer it. When I got a little older he would let me help him work on it with him, saying that it was important for me to learn how to maintain and repair a truck this old. I didn’t figure out what he meant by that till recently.

He mostly kept this yellow beast in the garage and would only take it out when there was a trail that needed conquered or we were going hunting or fishing. It’s all original minus the parts I have been forced to purchase because they have rotted away. He even has the original windshield visor. I once asked him why he never had it installed and he told me he couldn’t ever imagine drilling a hole in his Bronco.

My Grandfather served many years in the U.S. Navy and had the attitude to provide it. He was kinda grumpy at times but he was a very caring and hard worker man. I’m going to miss him!
