The ‘Ol ’97 Fox Truck

Good Day Folks,

My 1997 Sierra is one of those trucks that most people in my life have wondered why I’ve kept and keep around. It’s because of its story, and its stories to come, that give it its meaning. Before I had my licence, this was my Uncle’s truck he used to bomb back and forth from home to college. Small, good on gas, a standard with Flowmaster exhaust, and an 8′ long box – perfect for most of the driving essentials.

After he graduated college, the truck was available for purchase and I jumped on the opportunity. He raced dirt bikes, and I dirt biked for fun in the hills; hence the decal and it forever becoming known (unintentional) as ‘The Fox Truck’. This became my daily driver during the high school and college days myself, and after graduating with a Technologist Diploma I hit the rigs. The truck served its purpose in getting from a-to-b, but soon became apparent that it couldn’t serve as a ‘rig-rat’ without being hauled into and out of location. So I was forced to park the ol girl, and ended up purchasing a 2007 Sierra, lifted and on 35’s. The Fox Truck then sat at the family home for 10 years… a hard sight to bear, but a need at that time. Rig life led to office life for the patch, and eventually the 2007 bit the bullet at 330K kms. This led to a 2018 Sierra two years ago, at which time I reluctantly put The Fox Truck back on the road. After passing its inspection and finding Mad Max’s tires (Cooper Cobra’s) out of Minnesota (I live in Alberta Canada…), she’s back on the road as my Spring/Summer/Fall daily driver. Though you can’t find Flowmaster exhaust like this girl has anymore, I extend a current and future thanks to LMC Truck for continued support on parts, expertise, and availability for showcase. I shall be buried in this truck when I pass, screw the coffin.

Thanks
