1979 GMC Sierra Classic – 2nd Owner

I had driven my 1972 Pontiac Grand Prix to a local restaurant for dinner. As I was looking out the window at the Volkswagen dealer across the street I noticed a 1979 GMC truck on the lot. This intrigued me (since I had been looking for a truck recently) so after my meal, I went to look at it.
The salesman stated they had just gotten the truck as a trade in for a new VW. The original owner had the truck specially made for him & decided he didn’t like it (ate too much gas) so he traded it in.
The truck has a 350 corvette motor, transmission & air cooler. It did not come with the shell, I bought that later, but did come with a Craig 8 track AM/FM radio, power windows, power door locks, duel electric gas tanks, cruise control, air conditioner & tilt steering wheel. The truck only had 900 miles on it and they wanted $6500. I gave them a deposit, went to the bank the next day and got the financing & had a friend drive me straight to the dealer. Drove the truck home that day.
I later had a shell put on & then added the air scoop. I also carpeted the truck bed & made storage boxes.
The mileage I now have on the truck is 54,000 original miles. I used the truck for towing my boat & it was stored in a garage, completely covered. Now everywhere I go someone is asking if I want to sell. My stock answer is thanks but no thanks.
Anytime I have needed a part or add something to my truck, I always contact LMC.
