Ol Red

Not my first Ford truck, but probably my last… I had a motorcycle shop and a buddy of mine pulled in one day driving this big red dually! He got it in a trade and I fell in love! A few months later we sold our motorcycle shop and I had a 45 foot long car hauler enclosed trailer that I was going to use as a portable shop, but the trailer was just too much for my 70 C10 hunting truck, so I called my buddy and he showed up with this truck to pull it. The 16000lb goose neck didn’t even squat the rear end! He pulled the trailer across town and parked it for me, saying that the truck hardly noticed it was back there! A short while later, he wanted a motorhome that a buddy of mine had, so we made a 3 way deal. I bought the camper for cash, we traded the camper for Ol Red! That was 4 years and several thousand dollars ago! It became my “Shop truck” hauling a 16 foot trailer around, picking up and delivering motorcycles, atv’s and side by sides. Not long after, the VA retired me… so again I sold my shop and traded my tool box to a very talented young mechanic for the labor involved in rebuilding my truck! The 460 is completely rebuilt and highly upgraded, putting out close to 500HP, the C6 transmission was replaced with a built AOD from Monster transmission to handle the big engine build, new drive shaft, rebuilt Stirling rear end, new brakes, new bucket seats to replace the worn out bench, all LED lighting, reverse camera with the display in the rear view mirror, and as of right now I’m waiting on another order from LMC Truck for more upgrades and restoration on the old girl! My bumper sticker says “I’m retired, go around me” but trust me, she ain’t no slow truck! It took me a while to learn how to drive her without spinning the tires at every stop light. A recent VIN search also revealed that this is not a conversion Dually… this is a true F250 Duallie built in the Kansas City plant… but if you ask Ford, this truck does not exist.
