Daily Driver

When I was in my 20’s I had a 1958 GMC shortbed, stepside. I got about forty percent finished when the company I worked for required me to use my own truck, I sold it and bought a gas saving Toyota. Soon after, I began to regret that decision. About fourteen years ago I bought this truck as my hobby and daily driver, LMC sure makes it a lot easierĀ  hobby. I bought new fenders, hood and doors, mirrors, flooring, bed rails- really too much to go through the list. I put an Edelbrock 315 hp crate engine in it. Runs great, I keep it dependable, do ALL the maintenance myself. I’ve found when people come up to me and say “nice truck” they usually have a story to tell about themselves or someone they know, who had an old Chevy, so really just listen. In my case it’s not often they realize my truck is a 3/4 ton. I will say these 3/4 ton chevys are bullet proof. The full floating axle, the rear end, and TH400 transmission are the strongest Chevy made, now that’s not to say the C10’s aren’t cute.
