Old Wrecker

When I was about 12 years old, I was just crazy about this tow truck that was down the road at the Texaco.  It was the first truck I ever had seen like this and I just wanted one so bad.  As years went by, I remembered it but then it was gone.  I always told the story of how the truck was just a cool, hard working, real truck and was always going out to pull cars up and out of somewhere.

Then about 3 years ago I was looking at the truck and trader and there one was!  It took a bit to get it, but it had a new home and life with me.  I have spent the last few years trying to get this together and I am always looking for something for it.  For the most part, it’s done and I’m just going here and there and people that see it, like it, and wonder where it came from.  I just tell them I built it up and their reaction is ‘Why did you do this?’ and ‘What is the attraction to the tow trucks?’.  I tell them that I have operated all types of wreckers in the military and civilian jobs and now I am the owner of a towing company that has one truck, and this is my antique truck that I have been working on and it’s just all keeping me busy.
