Pop’s Truck

As a child I loved to hear the sound of Pops truck firing up, idling, or pulling in or out of the driveway. I would sit and watch him working on it as if I was lost in a dream. I would climb in with excitement even if it was going to the dump. So as you can imagine when I had saved up enough money my first car was a 1969 Ford F100 just like my Pop’s. Now his was a SWB black on black Ranger model that was so beautiful. Mine? Mine was a LWB canary yellow Ranger model and let’s just say it was beautiful to me. I was very proud of that truck and I would wash the rust every Saturday morning before driving it over to my Pops for his (advice) really I just wanted to spend time with him and my truck. It wasn’t long after that my Pop passed away and his truck went to my uncle. And a few short months after he passed my truck slung a rod. Now my father wasn’t going to allow me to park my broken down truck in front of his house and I had exhausted all efforts to find a place to store it so I had to sell it. As you can imagine I was shattered. I lost my Pop and my truck with in a year of each other. Over the next several years I made several attempts to buy my Pops truck that was slowly rotting away due to abuse until finally it was sold out from under me to a stranger for scrap. So after 25 years my search came to an end and I bought a rolling shell of a pets truck same as my Pops. Our story is just beginning but it will last a lifetime, and LMC truck is going to be my lifeline.
