Father and Son project

My father gave me a 1959 Chevrolet Apache for my 14th Birthday. It was more or less a rusted shell. He said, “If you want a vehicle when you’re ready to drive, you better get started.” We stripped it down to the frame that weekend. Over time we added a Ford 9″ rear end and a Mopar front end to get power steering and disk brakes. We installed a Chevy 350 with a 700R4 transmission. From there we started what seemed to be endless sanding and body work. After 3 long years I graduated high school and finished the truck all at the same time.
