I Have a “Few” Trucks…

Well as you can see, I’m a fan of square bodies. I’m a big fan of GMC! The black 79 I’ve had over half of my life. It’s been rebuilt completely twice and it has over 400,000 miles on it. The real story though, is my 49 GMC. It was on a farm in pieces where I was working. I asked the owner what he was going to do with it, he said he was going to haul it off for scrap iron and I said give it to me.
I hauled it home and started frame off restoration. Boxed the frame, put disc brakes up front, the rear end is from a 56 Chevy. The only real rust issues on the body were the cab corners and the bottom of the rear fenders. The chrome grill is original 1949. I traded a friend out of the 348, overhauled it, new cam, new pistons and scored the tri-power manifold at a swap meet. The carbs are speedway 9 super 7s. The tranny is an original granny 4-speed. Has A/C from Old Air Products and a Retro Sound radio. The sun visor and spotlight came from a swap meet also. The interior seat covers are from LMC Truck, the steering wheel, disc brakes, dual master cylinder, floor mats, weather strips, all and many more from LMC Truck. It’s a hit at the local car shows. It has also been seen at the Goodguys car show at the Texas Motor Speedway a few times.
