Ellibee’s 1979 K5 blazer

I wanted to rebuild a K5 that looked like the one I had when I met my wife. After we got married I had to sell it when the kids came along for a gas saver vehicle.

I happen to run across this one in AZ. I bought a plane ticket going off the sellers description that the blazer was road worthy for a trip back to Texas. I made it home with lots of oil, gas. I forgot to ask if the heater worked? My mistake, I liked to freeze going through the mountains since the driver side window would not roll up?

Started a 2 year full blown paint, interior and motor swap out, kept it the original color. I’m now a restorer but like working in my own rig where I can like others out there!

It has been a labor of love and sometimes hate with many busted knuckles and lots of floor dry and tape!

Happy with the final project with a fuel injected 5.7 with original turbo 350, went with the single belt system from a mid 90’s pickup. I left the stock suspension and look. Love the stock wheels!

There are a few things I still need to fix but love the looks and thumbs up when I drive it!

Thanks to LMC for the products and help with this new toy!
