The Truck That Would Help Mend a Broken Family

More than 30 years ago why looking through a magazine I stumbled across an advertisement for a 1972 Chevrolet Cheyenne 2 tone orange and white with a 350-V8 model replica from the Franklin Mint. It was a very nice all metal replica that I ended up purchasing for close to $150! This was not my style but just goes to show the love I had for this generation of pickup trucks! Fast forward to 2018 I’m married have 2 children that begged to play with this truck but would only allow under complete supervision! They too seen the interest I had with this truck and had found themselves having the same. In early fall of 2018 my wife. Their mother, was brutally murdered in our home and left us in a state of disarray and no since of purpose or meaning! About 3 to 4 months I was just looking on Facebook and this truck jumped out at me! This was it. This was what we needed! But the price…. there’s no way I could afford the price. And thought how nice it would be to own a truck to rebuild with my 2 children in her honor. But every truck I looked at was much more work than I knew we could handle and a lot higher in price than what I expected. A week goes by and I come across our truck again for the 100th time since first seeing it. Still for sale still same price, but why not call! Maybe I have something their interested in and we could work on the price…. to make a long story short, this person just found out something that would need some fast cash, and plus the truck was not in any shape to bring what they were wanting. Long story short , I was able to purchase the truck at a much much more reasonable price they were happy to be able to take care of their cash need and I am happy to surprise my children with this new project! I could never explain the hurt when I showed them and couldn’t get much more than a low mumble of ok dad. great…… well I went to work just the same. I ordered my LMC catalogue and began with what was the most important, and within a week I had it on the road driving it. Everywhere we went people would comment on the truck! The kids seen this, next thing I know they were answering strangers as I pumped gas of was inside paying. Before you know it. There giving me their opinions on what we could do or how something should be, and after about 6 months I saw 2 children who lost so much, putting their attention to something they both had in common! I know it would never be anything like a mother, I felt it important to include my wife in our family project. The truck was officially named Kimberly! And a picture resides in the window of the instrument panel where the vacuum gage would be . And is illuminated ever evening when the headlights are on with a glow only an angle could possess. Though it’s not a 1972 Cheyenne, it is a 1970 CST. Orange and white 2 tone long bed. And it’s just perfect for us! Thank you LMC for the customer support and great quality parts.your organization was a huge factor in making my kids have something to focus their need too! The Montgomery Family – Williamstown, KY
