When I bought my truck, I really wasn’t looking for this truck. I was looking for a car to build into a hotrod.

While looking at other cars, something about this truck made me want it. It is a 1970 C10 Custom, and when I bought it two years ago it had 68,000 miles on it, and was one owner. The original owner had recently passed.

When I went to see my friend that has a body shop, he recognized the truck since it had been local since it was new. He had fixed the body and paint 25 years ago. He remembered that all the trim was replaced with new GM trim. Fortunately it is still in good condition. We discussed getting the truck done again.

I bought another 1970 C10 to drive while this one was being restored. Well, the one I bought wasn’t reliable enough to trust as my truck while I restored the other one, so the one I just bought is in the process of being restored instead, and the first one will come later.

So I still get to drive the first C10 when I want. It has about 80,000 miles on it now, and does get used as a truck. The original owner had the valve seats replaced to not have a problem with unleaded fuel, and I added an HEI distributor. It still has the original 350, and the only option was power steering.
