The little Bus that could….

1969 Suburban C10 School Bus Originally purchased by Redlands Unified School District in 1969. This bus was in service until 1996 when sold at auction in Los Angeles, CA with 62,047 miles. Bus was sitting for over 22 years when I purchased it up from Huddiburg Chevrolet here in Fort Worth. They were going to restore it for their showroom and have it ready for the upcoming release of the new Suburban in 2020. The Chevy dealer changed their mind and sold it since it had so much damage for transporting and sitting for so many years. After researching and speaking with the Transportation Director at the school district, I was informed that this unit “575” was a maintenance vehicle when in service for the district.

This build took over 2 years and changed quite a bit over the course of it. We went from going completely original to a radical Big Block 454, 700 Trans, and 373 Rear end and custom Drive Shaft conversion. Bus is upgraded with CCP Disk Brake Conversion, Headman Headers and 3” electronic exhaust cut outs. The interior was completed period correct obtaining the 2nd and third row seats with arm rests and seat belts and a custom one piece headliner (no seams or ribs). The dash was up graded with Dakota digital period correct gauges.

This build would not have been possible if it were not for LMC supplying so many parts needed for this Suburban. There was a lot of trial and error on what was needed, but in the end the finished product speaks for its self. Many Thanks to the LMC Staff and personnel for all their help and assistance over these past few years.
