Tequila Sunrise or Sunny

She was rough from the start and only looked worse with each part removed and panel stripped. I began looking for a 1954 Chevy truck to restore. I told myself I did not have the time for a full frame off restoration. Next thing I know I have a completely stripped chassis sitting in my garage. On several occasions it was apparent I could have chosen a much better starting point but once you get started you you just can’t turn back. You have the vision in your head of what it will become so you press on. Through the course of the project I kept running into things I had never done before but that is part of the fun. Learning new skills and pressing your own boundaries. I learned a lot (what to do and what not to do ever again). Among other things, I was diagnosed with a type of cancer I had never heard of before. The truck was my therapy. After three years of blood and sweat both the truck and I are in much better shape. I did all the work with the exception some great engine machine work done by a local shop. Every several weeks my wife and I head out on some back roads to take in the scenery. Now I am on to the next project. Another 1954. This time a resto-mod.
