2 OL’ RED

52 yrs. ago my Pop’s bought a “50” 3-window from an Army auction it was red. Army? Red? Go figure but I wanted that OL’ RED truck as soon as I seen him. (Him not her; because, he was in the Army and got retired). My Pop’s taught me to drive on a column shift. My Pop’s passed on in 2000 and left OL’ RED to me.

Fast forward Iraq 04-05 (OIF 2&3). Upon return I found out I had lost the truck (whatever that means). “09” I returned to Iraq. When I returned, I had/have issues. By “12” I started looking for OL’ RED to no avail. December 14th (my Pop’s b-day) I picked up a truck mag. I’ve never seen or heared of. The first picture was this beautiful 1950 3-window. I called the man. He had lookers.

That night my Pop’s visited me and told me “OL’RED is gone. This one’s better”. Dave at Pioneer Auto Museum in Murdo S.D. held out till I rounded up the money and assured me the truck was mine. I figured since Pop’s bought a red truck from the Army, I could call a green truck 2OL’RED on its plates.
