The Farm Truck

This truck has been in the family over 60 years. It was purchased by my dad in 1956 and has lived at our farm ever since. Some of my favorite memories come from this truck. When there were too many vehicles in the field and dad needed help getting them back, he would let me drive this one home by myself. I couldn’t touch the pedals yet so dad would put it in gear, and I would steer her back home. When I made it back, I would turn it off and let it coast to a stop.

I ended up with the truck when I moved to the family farm. I couldn’t let it leave the family and I am glad I didn’t. My kids are all grown, and some have kids of their own, but they have memories with the truck now too. They looked forward to rides in the truck, even if that meant helping cut and carry in wood for our wood stove. Now, my grandkids will have those memories too. My oldest grandson has really taken an interest in older vehicles and this is one of his favorites to help work on and take for rides.

The truck has been through a lot over the years, but I have done minimal work to it. The body is all original and there’s no rust. I replaced the glass, weatherstrips, and restored the interior using LMC Truck parts.
