DESPERADO

This is my 1970 F100. I call her Desperado because she has been in desperate need of a makeover for the last 20 years. Bought her in 1990 from her original owner to start a lawn care business. She was pure white with original hubcaps and whitewalls, 360 engine and 3 on the tree. Over time she deteriorated but I still drove her weekly. Ten years ago I moved the 3 speed to the floor and added a Hurst shifter. I always had dreams of restoring her and finally my wife agreed to let me do just that for her 50th birthday.

My brother-in-law, Jon Hooks from Ohio, offered to paint her. Problem was we live in NC. So we shipped her to Ohio. Couple of months later we shipped her back home and were amazed at all the additional work he had done. Not only did he paint it Dark Cerulean Blue and Wimbledon White with a red pinstripe… he restored the interior, engine, shocks, tires, and added a sliding rear window. We were ecstatic! Through LMC we we able to find all the parts we needed. From wiper blades, mirrors, door locks, original emblems, lens covers, weatherstripping, etc. We also added Ford Baby Moons from a ‘56 Thunderbird.

If it wasn’t for LMC’s great Customer Service and prompt delivery this project would not have been possible. Thank you LMC for helping us “Keep’em On The Road” for another 50 years! Thanks to you we get lots of thumbs up everywhere we go. Love, Shannon and Beth P.
