My dad acquired this truck in 1985 as an original, well worn driver. We started working on it together in the 90’s and ended up doing a complete frame-off restoration. We were fortunate to start with a very solid & complete Texas truck that had the typical rust these trucks are known for.

I took an auto body & paint repair course at the local community college and learned the tricks of the trade. I repaired all the rust, prepped and painted the entire truck. Work and college came afterwards, so the assembly and finishing touches took another 13 years. With the help of LMC and some creative parts searching, we were able to put everything back together the way Henry built it. The only deviation from original was the color. Truck was originally Colonial White. Went back with 1993 Ford Performance Red.

It still sports it’s original 272 y-block with 3 speed on the column. Custom Cab option was added and an original radio was rebuilt, modernized and installed. It gets lots of positive comments and has won several awards at local shows. A real pleasure to drive on nice days.
