Red Shining Through

I bought this truck as a running, driving truck on an S10 platform. It was already matte black which I didn’t hate but when I saw some bright red peeking through, I had to see how it would look patina’d out.

First I hit it with a splash of thinner for a fast cut of the black and then switched over to wet sanding with 220 and then 400. The clincher was the satin clear to bring it to life.

The bed floor was rotted barn wood as well as the tailgate and I had a bunch of metal sitting around here and thought it needed a one-off tailgate, seeing how inexpensive they are from LMC I should have probably just gone that route.

I am amazed at how inexpensive parts (like door seal sets that I still have to install. I ordered a door glass for something like $29.00…..$29.00!!! By the way you guys package glass like a pro for sure, that box could probably get thrown from a plane and have the glass survive!

Thanks for your help and just being there for us truck enthusiast!
