My First Build

Having never owned those cool 4×4 trucks from any era, I told myself someday I would restore a truck. This 69 GMC K2500 was well on it’s way to scrap when I rescued it in the spring of 2017. In fact the vehicle quite possibly shouldn’t have been restored given how much body work and new or replacement panels it needed.

When I had completed all I could do I handed the truck over to my brother-in-law Mike and his good friend Steve. Over the course of a year they would piece together and paint a truck that had perfect lines and little to no signs extensive bodywork and welding had been done. Half of this build is dedicated to them, was it not for the generous friends & family discount, it simply would not have been financially possible. A good portion of the build I need to thank my father Craig, for he donated a few key days to help with heavy lifting, wiring, and fine tuning. Of course my wife Stephanie helped out a lot, if not for her support and ultimate blessing, this would have been nothing but a dream. I credit myself for learning as much and doing as much as possible over the course of 28 months to complete it.

Now that I have accomplished this, I can honestly say one restoration in a lifetime is plenty.
