67 C10 with Character

When I was in high school my grandfather handed down his 70 GMC C15 to me. While that one is long gone, that body style stuck with me as a clear favorite, particularly the 67. Years later I was able to purchase a 67 long bed with dreams of restoring it to its former glory. Unfortunately, I had neither the means, space, nor skills to take it on at that time and wound up letting it go as well. A few weeks back I came across another 67 that I had to have–a very original C10 short bed step side that’s oozing with character. This one’s a keeper. My plan is to get it running and driving reliably with the stock 250 and 4 speed while making some upgrades to brakes and suspension and maintaining the patina. I’m proud to have kids old enough and interested enough to be able to share my passion with. And, to add to the happy ending of this story: I may not have my grandpa’s truck, but I do now own his antique tractor and use it regularly around the property (1950 Ford 8N). Who knows, maybe I’ll pick up a vintage trailer and tow the tractor to local meets with the 67 once she’s ready…
