My 1979 Ford F100 S.W.B. Ranger was purchased on January 18, 1979 from Lynn Kirby Ford in Portland, Oregon. It was sent from San Jose, California on rail car. When I picked up my truck, the odometer had 3 miles showing I drove home to Castle Rock, WA, and there, I used it to pull my 16 foot ski boat to lakes and rivers. Then I bought land in Longview, Washington, where I fell trees, pulled stumps ,and hauled firewood.

I started restoring my truck in 2013, taking all chrome, exterior rubber parts, and windows off. Then I took it to Wheelers Collision and Paint Body Shop in Kelso, Washington, which prepared and painted the truck to its original Dark Metallic with Light Sand two-tone deluxe. I brought the truck home and put the LMC 5-piece rubber kit on and set the windows in place. Then I cleaned up all the original chrome and trim, and put it on. My truck looked new once more. I had a Line-X bed liner sprayed into the bed for a great look.

My 1979 Ford has a 300 CID 6 cyl. engine, C-6 transmission with a 4 barrel 390 Holley carburetor, which replaced the stock 1 Barrel. I installed a Clifford Performance intake and ceramic headers with duel exhaust. New all-terrain black country tires (265-70R17) and new Race Line 17-inch wheels.

My wife and I started showing the truck May 2013 in classic car shows throughout Washington and Oregon, winning many trophies. In the last six year, my wife (Gabrielle) and myself are having a blast visiting car shows during the summer months.

The truck’s odometer now reads 139,812 miles. This truck has been featured in the December 2012 and June 2019 issues of CRUZIN magazine.

Thank you LMC for helping us keep our classic truck on the road.
