A Solider’s Truck

I am writing as the current owner of this 1966 Ford F100. I am the third owner. It was purchased from its’ first owner in 1967 and was the pride and joy of Joe Lambert. A tank radio operator in World War 2 in the 737th Tank Battalion. “Patton’s Spearheaders”….See license plate. He owned that truck until he gave it to me, along with his daughter. The truck and my wife still call it Joe’s truck. Any chance I get to speak of my fondness for this truck I never pass up a chance to reminisce about my WW2 hero Joe.

The 352 V8 is always a non-Ford owner riddle stumper. “You’re wrong it is a 351 Cleveland or Windsor”. I love schooling them on that versatile medium block. Joe drove it every day to work and kept it under an awning at night. I keep it garaged and just put on electronic ignition. She still takes the trash to the dump and carries me to local shows. She and I do things together I could not by myself. Couldn’t imagine my life without her….MY WIFE I MEAN!!!
