62 and Feeling Fine

In my youth I owned, and restored a 1964 Chevrolet C10 short-bed, step-side truck. It was indeed back then, my pride and joy. In my early twenties I found myself strapped for cash, and thus had to sell my truck. At some level I’ve missed owning and driving that Chevy my entire life.

Life went on. I would become a Southern California police officer, husband, father, and within the last five years, a grandfather. As well as a three-time, 32-year cancer survivor.

I’m now 62 years old. Memories of the 1964 Chevrolet C10 remain vivid. Earlier this year, my amazing and supportive wife, Debbie, knowing how important that truck had once been to me, said, let’s get you a truck.

So the search began… Within a few weeks I found, and purchased the C20 shown in the photo. I look forward to working on the Chevy with our oldest son, along with his son/my grandson, Zion. Not to mention driving Debbie to the coast for breakfast, or Mexican food off South Coast Highway 101.
