This truck is sentimental to me, not just because we are both 1985s, but because like every good truck restoration/modification, it truly has been a family affair from bumper to bumper.

My wife, Abbey, and I have been doing projects together since we were kids in junior high, and it has long been a dream of ours to restore an old truck. Aside from raising our four children, bringing this 1985 Dodge W100 Prospector back to life has been our biggest undertaking yet.

The Prospector (as we call it) was previously the project of my brother Ben, who gave us a generous deal on it when it was still just a diamond in the Plasti Dip. Before my brother Ben owned the truck, my brother David swapped the engine in it, giving it a fully rebuilt Cummins 4BT Turbo Diesel. Hard work and help from family have truly turned this truck to treasure.
