This pickup was originally bought by my dad in 1990 when he was a sophomore in high school. During the time that he had it, he installed the 4″ lift kit along with 32″ tires and some other accessories. He also replaced the original 302 with a rebuilt 351 Windsor. In the summer of 2015, as a freshman in high school, we got it out of the barn where it had sat for the past 15 years. It took a few parts to get it running, and I drove it the way it was for a couple years.

The first major modification I did was swapping the 3 speed automatic transmission for a 4 speed manual. In the summer of 2017 I decided I wanted to repaint it. I wanted to replace the two-tone blue and silver with black and there was also rust problems that needed attention. I did all the work myself, along with shortening the frame to fit a rust-free short box originally from a pickup in Texas. I also stripped the interior down, repainted all the plastic pieces, and installed new carpet.

In the summer of 2018 I entered it in a car show and won my division. Many of the parts I have used have came from LMC Truck. Working on this pickup has taught me many skills and it is something that I take pride in. I plan on keeping it as long as I can and keeping it in the family forever.
