It was my dad’s truck. He parked it in his pole barn with 66,000 miles on it after the third factory-installed manifold warped. I wanted a beater truck so, I bought it from him for $500. I helped them a lot at their rural home so he gave me a price I couldn’t resist. I removed the non-integrated manifold and installed a Clifford Performance water intake and headers, converted to dual exhaust, added a Weber Dgas 38 carb, removed the driver side gas tank, replaced the passenger side gas tank, replaced brake lines, removed the camper from the “Camper Special,” put on bigger wheels and tires, added the chrome trim package, replaced the wood in the bed with varnished red oak, and an excellent painter put the icing on the cake. The carpeting still needs installed and am replacing the in-not-so-good-shape battery tray. 66,000 miles and runs like a champ! Only wish the low-geared 4-speed tranny had an overdrive.
