When I turned 14 my dad handed down to me our family truck. He was also 14 when he received it from his father. It is a 1981 GMC Sierra 3/4 ton and it’s been in the family Since 82 when my grandfather received it. I was so eager to have this truck the first thing I did was repaint it midnight blue which was it’s classic color. Two years down the road the engine got a crack in the head so I found a steal for 400 dollars it was a rebuilt 350 engine with only 200 miles on it. When I started her, I found out the transmission went out also I was furious but I kept my cool and found a brand new turbo 350 and installed it with help. Since that day I’ve put new rims, new 2.5 inch cherrybombs and new break system. This truck is everything I hoped for. And it will be in the family for years to come. There is nothing like driving a piece of history and a family relic.
