My father purchased this GMC new in 79. He and my mother went everywhere in it. I became the family service person and mechanic at 18 at the time of purchase. The truck passed to my mother after his passing in 1998. I shuttled her in it up until she passed in 2015. By then time had taken its toll and it needed some attention. One of her last wishes was that it be restored. The engine which had about 170,000 miles was pulled out and rebuilt. The cylinders were bored 0.20 and the block fitted with high performance pistons, cam and timing chain. The heads were replaced but not before getting a nice port job. The exterior of the block was left as original as possible. I plan to pass it on to my grandson.
