Before I got this 82 Ford, it was my mom’s truck. Her best friend had bought it new, but when she passed away, my mom got it. I went to visit her one summer and was doing some work around the house and noticed the truck had a tarp over the bed and was full of branches. I told her I needed to take the load to the dump. When I got to the dump, I could smell the load and realized it was composting! I told her later she can’t let stuff sit in the bed that long. She said, “it has that rhinoceros liner, should be ok.” Anyway, when I was getting ready to leave, she asked me if I wanted it. So, I loaded my motorcycle in the long bed and brought it home. I started cleaning it up, finding 30 years of pine needles and toothpicks in the vents and an old bird nest in the wheel well. Using LMC, I started with the engine pulling out hoses and gaskets, wiring and parts that were 30+ years old. I tricked out the old 300 inline, decided to change all the chrome to mat black and the interior to gray and black from all the red design, and installed the EVO sound and heat shield mats under the new black carpet. Rims and rubber were the final touch. I have a couple more items to do but I love driving it and taking to shows. Don’t see many F100’s still on the road.
