I bought this 2004 Silverado 2500 crew cab back in 2015 as a project to fix up and pull a trailer. It has the 6.0 LQ4 engine backed up by the 4L80E transmission, NP246 transfer case and 3.73 G80 limited slip rear axle. When I bought the truck, it was wrecked and dirty, complete with a busted-up grille, dented fenders, hood, doors, bed and bumpers. I updated the front end to the 2006 style with the HD hood and painted SS grille along with 2016 style mirrors and a 2015 Silverado rear bumper and LED tail lights. The H2 wheels give it a tough stance and the 285/70R17s give it a nice wide footprint.

Over the years it has hauled my project cars, pallet racking for the shop, plenty of coolers to the lake, as well as pulling the trailer for my friend’s cars when they were unable to make it to their destination. Future modifications to the truck include a fresh 6.0 LQ4, adding 799 heads and a cam to up the horsepower and torque when it’s hooked up to the trailer, along with a 2500HD frame swap and 4.10 gears to increase the towing capability and paint-matched front and rear bumpers.
