Hello, My name is Ned. I’m an A and P aircraft mechanic at the Ft. Lauderdale Executive Airport. I get lots of parts from LMC, it’s my go to restoration company for truck builds. As the story goes, I was just “looking” on eBay for a classic old GMC to restore and wanted the 1987 being that its the only year with factory fuel injection. There was what looked like a clean one listed, and I bid on it, not expecting to win. I did. I bought it sight unseen, and shipped it from Birmingham, AL to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The truck was much worse than expected. It had no brakes, exhaust was falling off. Barley ran. Paint was rough, interior rough, but it had the bones I needed to get started.

From that point it was a 4 month process to bring it up to date and turn it into my daily driver. Tune up, belts, new factory AC, radiator, hoses, complete brake system, interior, carpet, stereo, headliner, dash pad, bumpers, fresh paint, all new side trim, complete new grill and surround, bed cover, 4/6 lowering kit with frame notch. 20″ American Racing Torq Thrust wheels, window tint, hitch to tow the Harleys.

The truck gets noticed everywhere, its a really popular truck and thanks to LMC for the restoration parts I can keep it on the road as my daily driver. Special thanks to my wife Ivonne and daughter Catalina for the help and putting up with the late nights in the garage ‘getting it done’.
