This truck is a 1983 Chevy K10 with a 350 small block. My grandad bought this new in 1983 and used it for many years as a work truck and farm truck. Besides the many dents and lots of rock chips it was still a solid old truck. I’m 1993 he gave it to my dad, and my dad decided he would restore the truck. All new fenders, bedsides, tailgate. The only thing original is the cab. In 1996 he got rid of the truck and never saw it again. When I was smaller I had always seen pictures of the truck and told my dad I would get it back some day. Then last summer I was cruising the town with a few buddies and saw it sitting in the parking lot of the local pharmacy. After I turned in and was looking at the truck the owner walked out. After I established that I wasn’t gonna steal his truck and told him who I was he understood. Then I popped the question, “will you sell it”. He said he would let me know and I gave him my number. A long 3 months later I got a call saying he would sell the truck. I went and test drove it the next day and I had to have it. When I brought her home I started by cleaning the truck top to bottom, frame and all. Then I had to do some mechanical work such as valve cover gaskets and a heater core. After that I waxed it and did some touch up painting. I still use the truck on the farm but it’s also a show truck. I call it the passified farm truck.
