After racing small block modifieds in NJ for 20 years, I thought it was time to slow the pace down. Along with my wife, Cathy, and her two sons, Don and Gordon, we found a 1965 Chevy C10 fleetside pickup that looked to be a good project truck. We soon found what a bucket of rust we bought. While doing a complete cab-off project, Don, 12 years old at the time, and I bonded over this truck like I never imagined. We installed power disc brakes and steering and changed it over to 5 lug wheels. We lowered the truck by 4”. We moved the gas tank from behind the seat to under our new wood bed. We added a 4 speed Muncie transmission. And best of all, we added new chrome bumpers and a chrome grill. With LMC’s help, this project was a pleasure to do from doors to fenders to tailgate. After 2 years of hard work, the family fun continues as we get to show our truck at the local car shows. Thank you LMC!
