My son and I were visiting Salem, Oregon, last summer (I went to high school there and some of my family still lives there) and while there we drove down to Springfield to visit “Grave Yard Cars.” We while driving through town I spied this great looking 1970 Chevy C10. Having had several of these trucks over the years and always in the market for one, I stopped to look it over. The truck had only 71K original miles and the current owner had purchased it from a guy who had done a semi restoration on it. The only thing I could see that wasn’t stock was the seat upholstery, and the wheels.

My son looked up the VIN on the internet and found pictures of the truck from the owner prior to the restoration. After driving the truck I decided I had to have it. So I went to haggling and was able to pick up the truck for way less than I could build one for. I had the truck shipped back to Florida (I drove a 1971 long bed I purchased in Oregon in 2000) as I had no time to drive it home.

Today I park it next to my ’57 Cameo and drive it weekly, and am constantly getting offers on it, but this one isn’t for sale. I am upgrading to power disc brakes but leaving the rest stock.
