This truck started out life as a 1978 K5 Blazer. We grafted in a portion of a 1991 Suburban roof skin, quarter panels, and rear corners. We had to make the tailgate and rear window fit correctly.

The first time it was built, “Hillified K5” was blue and white with graphics between the colors. It was hit in Nevada on the way to SEMA. Having to repair the front end from the damage, we decided to do a color change and some updates to the suspension.

I chose the new colorway to be kinda “off-the-wall,” brown and green with a hot rod style graphic. It was now known as “Back at Ya.” It was shown, driven and stored for a few years after the change.

I felt it had served its time in this color and wanted to brighten it up one more time, hence the name “UnoMas!” I went with the Crue’s favorite PPG Hill’s Red and a PPG Cream to class it up a little.

Throughout all the builds the 5.7LS/4L60 combo has been reliable and responsive. It is a blast to drive down the highway!
