My husband and I are big Dave Ramsey budgeting fans so we sold our expensive cars and downsized. I bought this cheap $1000 S10 and I hated it! Drove that crappy thing for a year. We had saved up $2500 in cash and I was going through Craigslist and saw this 1990 F-150 and stopped dead in my tracks. I asked my husband if we could go see it (2 hours south) and that if it looked like the pictures and really had those miles, and an inline six, I wanted that truck. I texted back and forth with the owner some pictures of past trucks and cars and we bonded before we met. Well, she was that pretty and I drove her home.

After selling that ugly S10 I have $3400 in Stella (that’s her name). People ask me all the time if I want to sell her. HECK NO! She had 84K miles when I got her and now has 105K as I have driven her from Mississippi to Indiana four times now. She just purrs at 80! Love my truck.

I just replaced the whole A/C system myself as it hasn’t worked since I bought her, and in the spring I’ll have it charged up. I replaced the radiator too, as I was taking it out to put in a new condenser anyway. She got a new battery and starter as she had sat for some time in a shop. She had mud dauber nests everywhere. I also added a black toolbox. Next step is the interior, headliner, carpet and seats. She’s a Mississippi truck so not a bit of rust anywhere. I do all the work on it myself (except the front fuel pump, my husband was afraid I’d burn the house down) but she is easy to work on and fun to drive and just look at. So glad I found LMC as they have everything I was hoping to find for Stella.
