This is my 2003 Dodge Ram SLT 4.7 V8. I recently inherited this truck after my father Jeff’s untimely death on September 21, 2015.

A little backstory on my dad and this truck. This was my dad’s first truck that he bought a few years ago. It was his daily driver, his pride and his joy. I swear that he loved this truck more than his kids most days (he has five daughters, so let’s just say the truck was like one of his kids).

Just before his death, he began to work on the truck to bring it back to life after being slightly abused from his day-to-day work. He went to my husband Hector, who works at LMC, and together they began talking about what could be done to the truck.

At that time, they started to order parts for the truck. They ordered all new lights from the front to the back of Dodge (they went with the LED lights). They also talked about new bumpers, grille, wheels and even painting it. Oh did I mention how much my dad loved that truck? Well the fact that he let my husband help him was amazing. He never wanted anyone’s help. Honestly, I was really jealous at first but as time went on, the jealousy faded away.

So, let’s forward to now. When I inherited the truck in April of this year, it needed some TLC. At that time, it received a deep cleaning. We began to fix the known issues and started to update all the parts on the truck. I had spoken with my husband to find out what my dad’s plans were for the truck. That is when I decided to finish the truck the way my father wanted but with my personal twist.

I switched everything that was chrome to all black, including all the lights and chrome emblems. I’m still putting work into the truck. I am wanting a new custom paint job, a Hemi motor and a new exhaust system. I might even put a supercharger in the truck just for the fun of it. I do plan on adding a mural on the tonneau cover in memory of him, but of course, it’s all a work in progress.
