I got this truck from my dad around three years ago at the age of 23, for a restoration project. My mom and dad bought this truck when I was 11 years old and had plans of a restoration but it never quite made it as far as a restoration. Three years ago my dad called and told me to come with a trailer and pick up my truck and take it home with me.

I rolled the truck into the garage and began rebuilding the truck with what little knowledge I had, this was my first restoration project. Not long after work began, my wife and I found out we were expecting a little one so my project became a budget project. That’s were LMC came in handy, I was able to buy great products at a fraction of the cost to help restore my Ford.

With LMC’s help, and the help of my wife and newly arrived baby, I completely stripped the frame, cab, swapped the stock rear for a 9 inch Ford rear end, swapped the 8 cylinder Flathead for a Ford 302 and swapped the 3 speed transmission for an Automatic C6 transmission.

I done all the body work, priming, blocking, and painting myself in my home garage. I pulled the original paint code and shot the truck in its original MeadowGreen, but I added the extra Flat clear coat for a different look.

The interior of the truck I tried to keep looking stock. I used original gauges, original steering wheel, I kept the original bench seat after I reupholstered it in a two tone gray/green combo with matching door panels. I also replaced the headliner with a new one. For wiring, I stripped all the old wiring from the 6 volt system and installed a 12 volt harness.

The bed I replaced with all new oak wood, stained to preserve the finish and new stainless strips and bolts.

For the tires and wheels I went with a classic 15″ steel wheel with baby moon hubcaps and the classic whitewall tire.

I am very pleased with the result of my 1952 Ford F1, especially it being my first restoration and me being the one who done everything excluding exhaust on the truck. I feel that my efforts the build this truck to resemble a “well taken care of” original have been successful. I get several compliments on the look of the truck, many people don’t know that it’s been restored and think that the paint is original to the truck.

I built this truck in Honor of my dad Bill Preston, he’s been a great teacher, a great mentor, and an amazing dad and he’s incredibly pleased at my progress on the 1952 Ford.

Without LMC I wouldn’t have been able to do hardly anything on this truck! Thank you LMC!
