Do you remember as a kid…riding in the back of your dads truck? Loving life…

My dad had a “booger” green short bed F100…and I loved it when he said let’s go…

I had been casually looking for the same truck…booger green short bed, and then one day one popped up on eBay. It was an old farmers truck…just like dads…down to those super ugly hub caps and steel wheels!

Needless to say I bought it…and had it shipped that week.

As soon as it was unloaded in the driveway the fife had already that defeated look in her eye…but the kid, Ellie…well, I think she had that “this is awesome” look I once had…

I remember saying, wanna go for a ride?? And only one said YES!!! Lol…well, we made it 100 yards and it broke down! Hahaaa…

We (Ellie and I) then decided a makeover plan.

1. Keep the paint and zero rust body original…semi gloss over everything…keep the history!!!

2. Build a hot rod 302 that would get 20mpg…(with the help of a stage 2 AOD and a 2k stall converter)

3. Get it sitting right…lowered 6″ in the rear and 4″ in the front. Add some cool shoes…brakes, and make it reliable!

What a great project that we (now the wife’s on board) can seriously enjoy…

p.s. The kid and her friend love riding in the back…

Mission complete:)
