My dad purchased this truck in 1979. I bought it from him when I turned 15 as my first vehicle. At that time I repainted it and had the interior redone. I also installed a 460ci engine to replace the tired 400m. I repainted and repaired all the rust again in 2014 and finished it in August 2015. I also fabricated a gooseneck hitch and replaced numerous other parts. I plan to keep this truck forever or at least until my son or daughter want it. Judging by the way my 3 year old son looks at your catalog I won’t be able to keep it for long. THANK YOU LMC for making this project a success and keeping the classic iron on the road.

I do have lots of stories with this truck. Some of the earliest are riding with my dad to get parts for his semi. Of course this was long before I could drive and prior to me purchasing it from him. In fact I’m probably one of the few people who can say they’ve been working on their truck since before I started elementary school. Mom has a picture of me sitting under the hood helping my dad by holding the ratchet. He painted the truck when my mom was pregnant with me. I purchased it from him when I was 15 and immediately took it apart to repaint and have the interior redone. This was my first experience with your company. After 15 years of being parked outside the paint was looking rough and the rust was taking over as well. So I talked dad into letting me take over half his ship and started on it again. Lots of sheet metal and body work this time. New glass lights and the list goes on. It’s not perfect by any means as there are dents and some flaws in the paint. But it was painted in a barn. It’s my work Truck / play truck. I took my wife on our first date in it too. I lol forward to helping my son and daughter if they get the truck bug. And I will most likely yet very reluctantly pass it on to one of them. But then again, they may just have to find their own. I have many other stories from my teenage years as well but some of them are a little to incriminating!
