This is my 1956 Chevy Model 3600. I have never seen another longbed 3/4 ton 1956 model with all original, numbers matching, running gear.

I purchased the truck in the Spring of 2013 from an elderly gentleman in Rockdale Texas. We pulled it out of his barn where it had sat since 1985. Prior to letting it sit, the previous owner had covered up the rust and original yellow paint with a roll on primer that was covering many years of neglect. A steel plate had been welded into the bed, the floors/cab corners/and front fender corners were rotten and the original 235 in line 6 and 4 speed on the floor transmission had not spun over in years.

A 3 year restoration in my 500 square foot garage included new floors, body panels, rebuilt engine, rebuilt transmission, rebuilt suspension, rebuilt Eaton ho52 rear axle, custom red oak bed wood, dark jade green metallic paint and too many miscellaneous bolt on restoration parts to count. The truck was finally ready for its debut at the local neighborhood 4th of July Parade in 2016.

This truck was built the same year my father was born and is affectionately named “The Bob” in his honor. Everything done to the truck in the last 3 years was either done by my hand or my father’s and that was a great experience.

Thanks LMC truck
