This old girl has been following me like a sick puppy for many years now. Came to me originally by uncovering her from the middle of a large grove of sticker bushes in Spotswood ,New Jersey. I wanted her for parts as I had a 49 street completed thru junkyard donors- camaro sub, drive line and rear donated by a 1975 camaro,a 1950 in build, now utilizing a bolt in mustang II sub frame, glass mono leafs in rear to match stance and a stock 350 drive line from a crashed 72 caprice wagon that the owner just paid the cash for the new engine and trans-any way,as the five window sat outside the shop, she started to grow on me.The others had all been three windows- I viewed them as more stout, tough so to say – I decided to save as whole as opposed to dismantling- a few years went by as I enjoyed the 49- selling her off for a pretty profit, putting more cash up to finish the fifty and bank a bit- and then came the divorse- maybe I was in the shop too much or her boyfriend didn’t like cars, unsure which was the reason, but it got ugly- ill spare ya the details but it got ugly and lengthy and costly- 50 sold, all spare parts sold, two Harley’s ,one gold wing and lots of misc toys to keep a lawyer on watch- what wasted money- the monsters that could have been built- and the whole time the old green girl stayed quite and tucked behind the shop,no being hidden by honeysuckle bush. The family homestead was then the next to be sold to finalize and I towed her,my remaining fat truck to my new residence. She had been in garage for many years and then moved out and under tarps for the last few.25 years have past since I laid eyes on her and made her mine- she has stayed with me longer than wives and now it’s time to let her see the road again and maybe help me convince myself that something old can live again.
