I restored my 1991 GMC Sierra, it started out as my grandfather’s every day driver, and then his plow truck. With 94,000 original miles on it but the frame rotted off, it was worth a rebuild. I spent my sophomore and junior year of high school building the truck. As a 17 year old I started a project most would not have. Working to buy parts and passing school, it was hard to find time to work on the truck, but I finished it and I could not be more proud. What makes that truck special is when I was a little kid I saw my grandpa come home from work every day and when he died it was so rusty, my gram gave it to me for scrap money. But I surprised her and rebuilt it knowing it would make not only me proud, but my father and my grandfather.

It shows that kids can take on big projects and finish them.
