I had a 1970 K-10 back when I was just out of high school. It was an off road race prerunner and I have missed that truck dearly. Years later I spotted a 1969 K-20 sitting along Interstate 40 in Moriarty, NM. I kept driving by it and imaging what I would do with it and images of my old truck popped in my mind every time I saw it. I eventually bought the truck and started the resto mod project at home.

When I brought the truck home, my wife said to me, “so what exactly is it that you like about this truck?” I admit, it was very rough. It lived its life as a mobile home escort and set up truck. I deconstructed the truck to the bare frame and planned on improving as much of the mechanicals as I could and build a very capable off-road truck with a touch of off-road racing, maintain the old school appearance and still be comfortable enough to be a good daily driver. Pictured is the final product of 3 years of weekend and spare evening tinkering.
